Arab League Endorses Eight-Nation Statement Condemning Israeli Actions in Gaza

The arab league: The Arab League has endorsed the Sunday statement issued by eight Arab and Islamic nations condemning the Israeli proclaimed repudiation of the roadmap to complete the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

According to Qatar News Agency, Secretary General Nabil Fahmy emphasized on Monday that the current stance of the Israeli occupation and its Prime Minister reveals a clear intent to undermine mediators' efforts and maintain the existing conditions in Gaza. Fahmy asserted that these actions suggest an ongoing policy of daily violence, an expansion of the occupation's reach, and a hindrance to improving the dire humanitarian conditions affecting over two million Palestinians for the past three years.

Fahmy highlighted the Israeli Prime Minister's motivations, indicating they are driven by internal considerations and demonstrate a disregard for the international consensus embodied in the peace plan and Security Council Resolution 2803. He pointed out that these actions also dismiss the agreements reached by mediators regarding the disarmament of Hamas alongside the Israeli withdrawal, the deployment of the International Stabilization Force, and the transfer of administrative authority to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG).

Hamas's acceptance of these conditions, contrasted with Israel's failure to honor its commitments, places full responsibility on Israel, Fahmy argued. He emphasized that this regression implicates the international community, particularly the United States, which has been overseeing this agreement since last October. The moral and political duty of the international community, he stated, is to pressure the obstructive party to adhere to the deal and fulfill its obligations, enabling an immediate transition to the second phase of the peace plan.

Fahmy underscored that the occupation state seeks to impose its will not only on Palestinians but on the global community, viewing these agreements as one-sided obligations. He urged nations supporting the two-state solution as a means to resolve the Palestine-Israel conflict to adopt a unified stance against the extremist Israeli government, whose Prime Minister openly rejects the establishment of Palestinian statehood. Such a stance, he stated, would signal to the occupation state that its disregard for international consensus will not go unchallenged.

Foreign ministers from Qatar and seven Arab and Islamic nations had expressed their condemnation in a joint statement on Sunday, criticizing Israel's rejection of the roadmap designed to implement US President Donald Trump's comprehensive plan for resolving the Gaza conflict, alongside Israel's refusal to recognize a Palestinian state.
