Amman:The 25th Amman International Book Fair concluded with the presence of more than 400,000 visitors. This event was organized by the Union of Jordanian Publishers in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, the Greater Amman Municipality, and the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation under the theme "Jordan: Land and People."
According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar took part in the event through its Ministry of Culture and several Qatari publishing houses. This participation is part of Qatar's ongoing engagement in Arab cultural events and exhibitions. The Qatari delegation aimed to foster cultural exchange between Qatar and Jordan and provided Jordanian readers with access to Qatari publications and cultural initiatives.
The Jordanian Ministry of Culture highlighted this year's edition as a milestone, celebrating 25 years of the fair. Over the years, the event has grown into a key cultural and intellectual forum, promoting dialogue and knowledge exchange. It has also bolstered cultural and economic activities in the book industry.
Jordan's Minister of Culture, Mustafa Al Rawashdeh, stated that the fair has become integral to the cultural and publishing landscape, preserving heritage and the Jordanian narrative while adapting to technological advancements and diverse knowledge sources. These efforts aim to advance the book industry and broaden readership.
This edition featured Syria as the guest of honor and included participation from over 400 publishing houses and institutions from 23 countries. Authors, creators, researchers, and academics contributed to the fair's success.
The cultural program offered around 65 events, showcasing nearly 220 creative professionals, authors, intellectuals, and researchers. The fair placed special emphasis on engaging children and young adults.
