Amiri Diwan Announces Public Mourning Period for Late Father Amir

Doha: The Amiri Diwan has declared a public mourning period in the State of Qatar following the passing of HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. The mourning will last for four days starting Sunday, July 12, 2026. During this period, work will be suspended in all ministries, government agencies, and public institutions beginning Monday, July 13, 2026. Employees are set to return to work on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

According to Qatar News Agency, flags will be flown at half-mast throughout the mourning period across the State. This gesture marks a symbolic tribute to the late Father Amir and reflects the nation's respect and remembrance for his contributions to Qatar.
