Security services dealt with limited riot in Amman's Al-Wehdat area during a joint campaign to remove sidewalk encroachments by street vendors and arrested 6 rioters. In a statement Sunday, the media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said a joint committee from the concerned authorities and directorate carried out a campaign to remove these sidewalk encroachments in Al-Wehdat neighborhood, as stalls' owners were notified several times following a number of deadlines to rectify the situation. During the campaign, the spokesperson said several people objected and carried out acts of rioting, who were dealt with with "appropriate" force and 6 were apprehended, while the committee continued its duties to remove the violations.
