14 Nations Set to Compete in Arab Golf Championship in Doha

Doha:The 45th edition of the Arab Men's and Women's Golf Championship is set to commence at the Doha Golf Club on Friday. The event will see participation from 73 golfers, both male and female, representing 14 different countries.

According to Qatar News Agency, the championship is being organized by the Qatar Golf Association. Official competitions are scheduled to begin on Saturday and will run through next Tuesday at the Doha Golf Club.

In the men's division, 52 players from 14 countries will compete, while the women's division will feature 21 players from nine countries. The participants will vie for both individual and team titles, with expectations set for a high level of technical performance.

The opening ceremony marks Qatar's first time hosting this championship, featuring a parade of participating national teams, the raising of the championship flag, and speeches by representatives from the Arab and Qatar golf federations. This reflects the championship's significance in Arab golf and the federations' commitment to promoting the sport and expanding its reach across the region.

Mike Shoueiry, Technical Director at the Qatar Golf Association, emphasized the broad participation this year, noting the eagerness of most Arab federations to attend and compete. He highlighted that hosting the championship offers an important opportunity for Arab golfers to exchange expertise, gain competitive experience, and further develop the sport's presence in the Arab sporting scene.
