World Leaders Unite in Grief Over the Passing of Qatar’s Father Amir

Doha: The Arab and Islamic worlds received the news of the passing of the State of Qatar's great statesman, HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, with profound sadness. Widely recognized for his dedication to Arab and Islamic causes, HH the late Father Amir devoted his time, effort, and intellect to serving these causes, rendering enduring contributions to his country, as well as to the Arab and Islamic worlds, and providing support to the vulnerable and the needy with steadfast solidarity.

According to Qatar News Agency, upon the Amiri Diwan announcing the passing of the nation's revered leader at the age of 74, world leaders expressed their sincere condolences to the State of Qatar's leadership and people via diplomatic cables, posts on X, and telephone calls. They paid tribute to HH the Father Amir's lifetime of service and historic achievements, which elevated Qatar to the ranks of developed nations and advanced Arab and Islamic causes.

In this context, HH President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan conveyed his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and to the Qatari people. HH the President of the UAE prayed that Allah would grant HH the Father Amir boundless mercy and admission into Paradise, and grant his family and the people of Qatar patience and comfort.

HE President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah El Sisi extended his heartfelt condolences to the State of Qatar on the passing of HH the Father Amir, praying that Allah grants His Highness mercy and continues to bless Qatar and its people with security and stability.

HM King Abdullah II of Jordan expressed his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to HH the Amir and the Qatari people. His Majesty prayed that Almighty Allah would shower HH the Father Amir with mercy and protect the State of Qatar and its people.

HE President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he had received the news of the passing of his dear friend with profound sorrow. In a post on X, President Erdogan prayed to Almighty Allah to grant HH the Father Amir boundless mercy. He highlighted HH the Father Amir's role in boosting Turkish-Qatari relations and sincere efforts for peace in the Islamic world.

HE President of Syria Ahmad Al Sharaa expressed his sincere condolences on the passing of the nation's great leader in a post on X. President Al Sharaa prayed for HH the Father Amir's boundless mercy and forgiveness, admission into Paradise, and comfort for his family and the people of Qatar.

HE Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council Gen. Abdel Fattah Al Burhan conveyed his sincere condolences and sympathy, praying for boundless mercy for HH the Father Amir and solace for his family and the Qatari people.

HE President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari expressed profound sorrow over the passing of HH the Father Amir, praising his leadership, vision, and invaluable contributions to Qatar's progress and regional peace. His Excellency prayed for HH the Father Amir's highest ranks in Paradise and strength for his family and the people of Qatar.

HE President of Lebanon Joseph Aoun emphasized the great loss for Qatar and the Arab world, highlighting HH the Father Amir's support during Lebanon's darkest periods. His Excellency extended his condolences to HH the Amir and the Al-Thani family.

HH Vice President of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also extended sincere condolences, while GCC Secretary-General Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi remembered HH the Father Amir's role in Qatar's renaissance and Gulf unity.
