Violence Escalates in West Bank Amidst Gaza War, Rights Group Reports

West Bank – The Israeli occupation forces and Jewish settlers have intensified violence in the West Bank, coinciding with the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, a rights organization has reported.

According to Jordan News Agency, The Independent Commission for Human Rights in Palestine released a report on Saturday documenting the displacement of Palestinian families and increased attacks by settlers under the protection of the army since October 7. The report detailed several incidents, including the expulsion of five families from their homes to expand a Jewish settlement near Hebron in the southern West Bank, along with instances of burning homes and livestock thefts. Additionally, the only road to Al-Rashaydeh village southeast of Bethlehem has been closed for over 40 days, severely disrupting education and health services and leading to significant food shortages. The rights group called for international protection for Palestinians, emphasizing the plight of those in remote areas or near Jewish settlements.
