Doha: The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it has redirected 12 commercial vessels and disabled one vessel since the United States resumed its maritime blockade of Iran on July 14.

According to Qatar News Agency, CENTCOM stated that since the blockade's resumption nine days ago, the US Central Command had taken action to redirect 12 commercial vessels and disable one vessel. These measures aim to prevent ships from entering or leaving Iranian ports or coastal areas.

The United States reinstated its blockade on Iranian ports on July 14, following the collapse of a memorandum of understanding reached earlier in April. This decision comes amid the renewed escalation of hostilities in the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's targeting of commercial vessels transiting the critical waterway.
