Gaza, Nearly one million Palestinians fled their homes in the Gaza Strip during the first week of the Israeli occupation's aggression, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) announced Sunday. UNRWA's Director of Communications Juliette Touma said in press statements that this number was likely to increase with Gaza residents still quitting their homes for fear of the ongoing Israeli bombing since Oct. 7. Earlier, UNRWA had warned that over two million Gazans were battling a life-threatening water scarcity risk, stressing that its shelters in the enclave were no longer safe. UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini had stressed the need for fuel trucks to be allowed entry into Gaza Strip to provide water that became a matter of life or death for two million people. Without fuel, people, including young children, the elderly, and women, will die from severe drought, he said. Source: Qatar News Agency
