Under Patronage of Prime Minister, 24th Gulf Engineering Forum Kicks off Tuesday

Doha, March 06 (QNA) – Under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, the 24th Gulf Engineering Forum will kick off Tuesday in the State of Qatar under the title “Environmental Engineering and Sustainability”.
The Forum will last from March 7-9, in the presence of a number of Their Excellency Ministers and dignitaries from Qatar, the Gulf and Arab countries.
The Forum is organized by the Ministry of Municipality, the Gulf Engineering Union and the Qatar Society of Engineers.
Speakers from the State of Qatar and Gulf Corporation Council (GCC) states will participate in the 24th Gulf Engineering Forum, consisting of 5 discussion sessions, during which a selection of 25 working papers will be presented, dealing with four axes: technology and smart cities, sustainable construction materials, efficient building and city management, waste management and recycling.
Fifteen GCC-based pioneer engineers will be honored during the Forum’s opening session, two engineering pioneers from each GCC state, and five pioneers from the organizing country (Qatar), for the categories of individuals and projects, distributing the Gulf Engineering Union Award for Excellence and Creative Engineering Award to the winning engineering pioneers from Qatar and the Gulf states, as well as the best engineering projects that achieve environmental and sustainability standards.
The Forum will be accompanied by an environment and sustainability engineering exhibition, in which 20 participants from governmental and semi-governmental agencies and the private sector from Qatar and GCC countries will participate, in addition to distinguished contributions from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Kuwait.
This is to present the most prominent ideas, projects and engineering services in the field of environment and sustainability.
The 25th Gulf Engineering Union’s anniversary will be celebrated on the sidelines of the Forum, with field visits organized for GCC states’ delegations to Lusail Stadium and Stadium 974, in order to see Qatar’s pioneering experience in terms of sustainability and environment protection.
The activities of the Gulf Engineering Forum and the accompanying exhibition will be open to the public and specialists in the engineering sector to visit, attend discussion sessions, and present working papers during the three days. (QNA)
