UK and UAE Discuss Regional Security Following Iranian Attacks

London: Senior British and Emirati officials have discussed regional security and the stability of maritime and energy routes following Iranian attacks on civilian sites in the United Arab Emirates. In talks in London, UK Justice Secretary David Lammy met with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is visiting the United Kingdom.

According to Qatar News Agency, the two sides reviewed recent developments in the Middle East and their implications for regional and international security, based on official accounts. They also discussed what was described as the broader impact of the attacks on maritime navigation, global energy supplies, and the wider economy, amid rising concerns over stability in the region.

Both ministers emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation to achieve sustainable peace in the Middle East and reviewed bilateral ties between the UK and the UAE, including areas of strategic cooperation. The talks come as Western and Gulf states continue to express concern over escalating regional tensions and the security of key shipping lanes and energy infrastructure.
