Ministry of Water and Irrigation's Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ), in cooperation with the concerned authorities and Public Security Directorate (PSD) seized two violating drill rigs in the southern Shuna area. According to a ministry statement issued Thursday, a security campaign was coordinated, in cooperation with Balqa governor and PSD to seize the two excavators, based on information from the field teams about illegal digging works inside a farm in southern Shuna district. The ministry added that all illegal fixtures were removed and the violating wells were refilled, as seizures related to the incident are sent to competent authorities to complete investigation and apply the provisions of the law, noting steps are underway to apprehend perpetrators.
