Minister of Transport HE Jassim bin Saif bin Ahmed Al Sulaiti met with President of the Council of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) HE Salvatore Sciacchitano, and HE Engineer Mohamed Farea, ICAO Regional Director for the Middle East.
During the meeting, they reviewed the relations between Qatar and (ICAO) in the field of civil aviation and ways to support and enhance them, in addition to discussing ways to contribute to issues of environmental protection, and research and development in the areas of reducing carbon emissions.
After the meeting, the officials of the organization visited the building of Hamad International Airport tower and Qatar Air Traffic Control Center, reviewed the service facilities, and listened to an explanation from the officials of Qatar Civil Aviation Authority about the techniques and modern operational technology of the facilities in line with the processes of developing and modernizing the aviation system in the State of Qatar.
HE the President of ICAO praised the tremendous development in the field of civil aviation in the State of Qatar, and thanked the efforts made by the state during the repercussions of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, its effective contribution to the field of transport, and its continuous support to the International Civil Aviation Organization.
The ICAO officials also visited Qatar Science and Technology Park at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.
