Third Environmental, Social and Governance Conference Set to Commence in Doha

Doha: Qatar Chamber has announced the date for the upcoming Third Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Qatar Conference, scheduled for Oct. 6 to 7 at The Ritz-Carlton Doha. Organized by Hawkama International, the two-day conference aims to enhance corporate sustainability, social responsibility, and sound governance frameworks, highlighting their vital role as cornerstones for building a resilient and sustainable economy.

According to Qatar News Agency, Acting General Manager of Qatar Chamber, Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansori, emphasized the increasing importance of ESG issues as critical pillars of corporate competitiveness, investment readiness, risk management, and long-term sustainability. He noted the necessity for companies to integrate ESG principles into their strategies and operations to grow, attract investment, build trust, and remain competitive in rapidly changing markets.

Al Mansori highlighted that Qatar Chamber views the conference as a crucial platform for dialogue among business leaders, policy experts, and key stakeholders. It serves as an opportunity to raise private-sector awareness about modern governance and corporate responsibility, thereby contributing to the enhancement of Qatar's overall business environment.

Chairperson of Hawkama International and the upcoming conference, Dr. Buthaina Hassan Al Ansari, stated that the third edition of the conference brings together international and local experts to discuss developments in governance, environmental and social sustainability, corporate disclosure, and sustainable finance and investment. She announced the launch of a dedicated digital platform at the conference to assist institutions in streamlining ESG reporting, structuring disclosure requirements, and improving overall reporting quality.
