Damascus: Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa said Monday that the visit of his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron to Damascus represents an important development in relations between the two countries. According to Qatar News Agency, Al Sharaa added that several agreements will be approved during Macron's visit, indicating that Syria has overcome several obstacles and has established excellent relations with many countries in recent months, including France. The Syrian president pointed out that Syria is undergoing a reconstruction phase, and that it has many assets, but it needs countries advanced in technology, noting that France is one of the most developed countries in this field. President Macron arrived in Syria this evening on the first visit by a French president since 2009, aiming to take Syrian-French relations to a new stage.
