‘Sustainable Transportation and Legacy for Generations’ Exhibition Reviews Aviation, Maritime Transport Sectors Sustainability Strategy -1-

Participants in the discussion panel praised the distinguished level of QTerminals as well as Hamad Port and its operational work based on advanced technology fed by the local 5G network, in addition to remotely controlled cranes, remote data collection, and predictive and preventive maintenance.
They emphasized QTerminals’ strategy to adopt eco-friendly facilities, equipment, and practices, along with a plan for continuous improvement to adapt to global environmental, social, and governance standards in various operations.
Regarding the MOT’s strategy for the Maritime Transport Affairs Sector, the participants highlighted the most significant objectives represented by achieving maritime safety, protecting lives and property at sea, and providing high-quality maritime transport services and means, stressing that the MOT’s Maritime Transport Affairs worked to update the strategy to be in line with the current stage in light of the Qatar National Vision, many initiatives and projects have been adopted to keep pace with the plan of the current phase.
The fifth discussion panel discussed the “Civil Aviation System Accelerating Growth and Active Role in Development.” The panel highlighted that Qatar Airways played a significant role in supporting the strategic objectives of civil aviation transport locally and globally. They stressed that Qatar Airways provided safety and security and worked on sustainability and environmental protection.
Participants in the discussion panel noted that Qatar Airways won the “World’s Best Airline” award at the World Airline Awards from Skytrax, as it is keen to create a thoughtful balance in its commercial operations and its long-term policy to support the principles of sustainability and environmental protection.
They stressed that Qatar Airways supports the goals of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and IATA’s four-pillar strategy aimed at combating climate change: (technology, operational and infrastructure measures, sustainable aviation fuels, and carbon offsetting).
During the fifth discussion panel, the participants emphasized the development of air navigation, which plays an important and vital role in ensuring the safety of air traffic in Qatari airspace through implementing a set of tasks supported by the best advanced navigational devices and the latest technologies and relying on human cadres, experiences, and qualified national competencies to ensure the highest levels of safety and security.
The participants reviewed Qatar Air Control Center, which is distinguished by its 360-degree 3D simulation room, which provides the air control center with the second generation, which is characterized by high simulation capacity and accuracy in air surveillance, as well as being the only simulator in the Middle East that has such advanced specifications.
The closing panel “Transportation Sector and Enhancing the Business Community” highlighted several projects and strategies related to the transport and communications sector.
