Doha: HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Dr. Maryam bint Ali Al Misnad convened a meeting on Tuesday with HE Director-General of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Pierre Krahenbuhl, who is currently visiting Qatar. Their talks revolved around enhancing the collaborative efforts between Qatar and the ICRC to bolster international humanitarian work, ensure the protection of civilians and those affected by armed conflicts, and uphold the tenets of international humanitarian law.

According to Qatar News Agency, the dialogue between the two officials also covered the pressing humanitarian conditions in Gaza and Sudan. They deliberated on strategies to guarantee that aid reaches those who are most in need. Both parties emphasized the critical importance of safeguarding civilians and humanitarian workers while alleviating the suffering of conflict-affected individuals.

The discussions concluded with a mutual agreement on the necessity for sustained cooperation to foster respect for international humanitarian law and to ensure strict adherence to its principles.
