Spanish Prime Minister’s Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Turkiye After Technical Fault

Ankara: The plane of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez made an emergency landing in Ankara on Monday because of a technical malfunction, Turkish authorities said.

According to Qatar News Agency, Turkiye's communications directorate released a statement indicating that the aircraft was forced to land urgently in the capital after an "unexpected" fault. The Spanish delegation, led by Sanchez, will spend the night in Ankara before departing for Yerevan, the statement added.

The plane had been en route to Yerevan, which is hosting the 8th summit of the European Political Community on Tuesday.
