Madrid: The Spanish Football Federation announced Friday that Pau Cubarsi, defender for the national team and Barcelona FC, will miss the second leg of the UEFA Nations League quarterfinals against the Netherlands on Sunday due to injury. According to Qatar News Agency, an official statement from the federation revealed that medical examinations conducted on the 18-year-old player confirmed a right ankle injury. Cubarsi will return to Barcelona to begin a rehabilitation program for recovery. Cubarsi sustained the injury during Spain's match against the Netherlands on Thursday in the first leg of the Nations League quarterfinals, which ended in a 2-2 draw. The defender had started the match but was unable to continue after being injured in the 41st minute.
