Shafallah Center’s Graduation Ceremony Highlights Qatar’s Commitment to Empowering Persons with Disabilities

Doha: Executive Director of the Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities, Fatima Saeed Al Saadi, affirmed that the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani for the 2026 graduation ceremony of the center's participants reflects Qatar's dedication to supporting persons with disabilities and their journey towards empowerment and active participation in society.

According to Qatar News Agency, the graduation ceremony is a national and humanitarian occasion that embodies Qatar's commitment to inclusion, equality, and equal opportunities, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030. Al Saadi emphasized that graduation signifies a new phase of contribution, independence, and engagement in professional and social life for the participants.

She stated that the efforts of the Shafallah Center are an extension of Qatar's approach to supporting and empowering persons with disabilities, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and Law No. 22 of 2025, which promotes inclusion, equal opportunities, and active societal participation.

The center's programs and initiatives aim to translate these national objectives by providing specialized educational and rehabilitation services that support the capabilities of its members and expand their opportunities for participation in education, work, and community life.

Al Saadi noted that the center prepares its members for working life through integrated educational and rehabilitation programs, in cooperation with various entities in the public and private sectors, contributing to their integration into society and the labor market.

The Shafallah Center offers a comprehensive range of educational and rehabilitation programs and services, from academic qualification to vocational training and sports and arts activities, focusing on developing personal and life skills necessary for independence and community participation.

It continues to support economic empowerment opportunities for people with disabilities by preparing them for the labor market. Numerous graduates have secured jobs in various public and private sector entities, enhancing their job stability and active participation in diverse work environments.

Established in 1999, the Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities, a part of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, provides specialized educational and rehabilitation services for persons with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder, promoting community awareness of their rights and supporting their integration and independence.
