DOHA: The matches of the Round 7 of the Second Division will start on Jan 20 with two matches scheduled.

Round 7 is of great importance as it will see the teams battling for the top spot.

Al-Kharaitiyat, points leader with a tally of 18, will meet Al-Shahaniya, the second-ranked team with 15 points, at Saud bin Abdulrahman Stadium.

Both sides will be eager to bag three points and march ahead in the title race.

Al-Kharaitiyat is looking forward to winning Thursday’s match and moving away from the top of the table so that it can dream of qualifying for the QNB Stars League.

On the other hand, Al-Shahaniya will be hoping to bag the three points and draw level with Al-Kharaitiyat.

In the second match, Mesaimeer will meet Muaither on Thursday at Al Sailiya Stadium. Mesaimeer is in fifth place with 7 points while Muaither occupies the last place with one point.

Looking at the two matches on Friday, Lusail face Al Markhiya in the first match at Saud bin Al Rahman Stadium, a clash that will bring the third-placed side with the fourth-placed team.

Al-Markhiya will look at the match with great interest as it is one of the teams competing to advance especially after qualifying for the Round of 16 of the Amir Cup after beating Mesaimeer.

Lusail remains the dark horse of the Second Division with its strong performances and positive results.

In the last match, Al-Waab faces Al-Bidda who are ranked sixth and seventh with three points and two points respectively.

In the scorers race, Al-Shahaniya’s De Berto tops the list with 6 goals, a notch above 5 by Rachid Tiberkanine, Al-Kharaitiyat player, and behind them is Hamron Yugurtha, Al-Markhiya player with 4 goals.
