Moscow: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russian air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 13 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory last night. This development marks a continuing pattern of drone attacks as tensions persist between Russia and Ukraine. According to Qatar News Agency, a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry detailed the incident, noting that the air defense forces on duty were able to intercept nine drones over the Belgorod region, two over the Bryansk region, and two more over the Kursk region. This statement underscores the frequent targeting of Russian border areas, including Crimea, by Ukrainian forces using drones and missiles, as part of the ongoing conflict that began in February 2022. The exchange of such announcements regarding drone activity has become a daily occurrence between Russia and Ukraine, reflecting the ongoing hostilities and the strategic use of unmanned aerial vehicles in their military engagements.
