Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow is open to any peaceful settlement in Ukraine.

Lavrov was speaking on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Foreign Ministers meeting in Goa. He said that negotiations to resolve the conflict will have to take place sooner or later. He noted however that these negotiations will take place with the West and not with the Ukrainian President, adding that the latter is being used by the West. He stressed that Moscow was prepared for such a dialogue for a long time, citing 2009 and December 2021 as two example, adding that it was the West who rejected those advances.
