Russia, Turkey Discuss Grain Deal Suspension

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin discussed, in a telephone conversation Thursday, with his Turkish counterpart Burak Akcapar, the situation regarding Russia’s suspension of an agreement on Ukrainian grain export.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stated, in a statement, that the two sides exchanged views during the call on aspects related to the non-implementation of the Russia-the UN memorandum on the normalization of the supply of Russian agricultural products to global markets.

Spokesman for the Russian presidency Dmitry Peskov said in press statements that the part related to Russia of the grain deal has not yet been fulfilled, adding that Russia is ready to return immediately to the deal itself, not only to negotiations, but to the deal itself.
