Next Monday, corresponding to Oct. 16, 2023, is the first of the month of Rabi’ Al-Akhir for the astronomical year 1445 AH, according to astronomical calculations by Qatar Calendar House (QCH).
The Executive Director of the Sheikh Abdullah Al Ansari Complex Eng. Faisal Al Ansari said that the crescent of the month of Rabi’ Al-Akhir for 1445 AH will be born on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2023, at 08:56 pm Doha local time, 5:56 pm GMT.
He added that it is impossible to see the crescent of Rabi’ al-Akhir for 1445 AH on Saturday evening Oct. 14, 2021, in the sky of the State of Qatar and all Arab and Islamic countries because the crescent will not have been born at sunset on Saturday.
The movement of the moon in its orbit around the earth determines the beginning and end of the Hijri months, while the movement of the earth in its orbit around the sun determines the beginning and end of the Gregorian months.
