QU’S CENTER FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZES AN OPEN DAY TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT ITS ACTIVITIES

Qatar University’s (QU) Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) organized an open day aiming to introduce visitors to the center’s programs and facilities by presenting the research activities it focuses on. The event was attended by QU’s Associate Dean for Sciences and Applied Sciences, Dr. Khalifa Abdulla Alhazaa, in addition to a number of university members, including professors and students.

During the event, CSD Director Dr. Sami Sayadi presented the most notable activities of the center, as well as its current goals. The event also included a tour of the laboratory and a field visit to a large-scale test site at the QU farms. During the event, the center also sought to establish further research cooperation with various research teams at QU and stakeholders in the country.

CSD Research Professor, Dr. Imen Saadaoui said, “It was our pleasure to host this event, share our achievements, aspirations and future projects, as well as meet with visitors, whether from within or outside the Qatar University community, and see ways of working together for the joint goal of achieving Qatar National Vision 2030.”

Eng. Carol Khadra, Senior agronomist at QAFCO (Qatar Fertiliser Company) said, “We are honored to visit the Center for Sustainable Development. I commend Qatar University’s great interest in algae and look forward to working on future collaborative projects to achieve food security.”
