QU STUDENTS PRESENT GRADUATION PROJECT ON CAR SEAT USAGE IN GULF

A group of Public Health students in Qatar University’s (QU) College of Health Sciences presented their graduation project yesterday, which was about assessing child restraint systems importance among parents in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) through a systematic review.

The group of students includes Huda Al-Motawa, Shouq Baker and Nejood Nasher and was supervised by Dr. Marguerite Claire Sendall.

Their findings suggest that the use of child restraint systems in the Gulf region is influenced by a suite of different factors, including a lack of knowledge about risks and proper usage and the influence of local culture and attitudes. The students recommended that more interventions are required to be implemented toward promoting the use of child restraint systems in the Gulf region.
