QU SIGNS MOU WITH AL-ASMAKH CHARITY FOUNDATION – AFIF TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR STUDENTS

Qatar University (QU) and Al-Asmakh Charity Foundation – Afif sign a MoU to strengthen joint cooperation and make use of the common potential between the two parties that serve both institutions, which includes financial assistance for low-income students enrolled in different academic specialties at the university.

The agreement was signed by QU’s Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Eiman Mostafawi and Acting Chief Executive Officer of Afif Charity, Ms. Zalikha Al-Asmakh.

In her statement on the occasion, Dr. Eiman said, “We are delighted to be signing this agreement with Afif Charity that will serve our common objectives and provide financial assistance to low-income students enrolled in Qatar University in various fields. I would like to thank Afif Charity for this noble approach and collaboration with the University’s student financial aid department and which aims to provide financial support for students that gives students the opportunity to learn and succeed in their journey for personal and academic growth at Qatar University.”

Ms. Zalikha Al-Asmakh from Afif Charity also commented saying, “It is Afif Charity’s keenness to cooperate with other institutions to serve students in need of financial support. Signing this agreement with Qatar University will give us the opportunity to reach a wider network of students and will allow us to unite our efforts.”

She added, “The program ‘Siraj’ will give students the opportunity to apply to pay their student fees electronically. It will be available on the Qatar University website starting from next term, where we will receive applications transferred from the university and study them. ‘Siraj’ is considered a beginning where we will widen our circle of partnership with the university in the field of financial assistance for students, according to the latest developments.”
