Doha: The Qatar University (QU) Young Scientists Center (QUYSC) successfully celebrated the conclusion of its scientific programs for the Fall 2024 semester, drawing participation from over 400 students across various schools statewide. This event marked a significant milestone in the center's efforts to enhance educational opportunities through innovative programs. According to Qatar News Agency, the ceremony highlighted the remarkable engagement of students in the center's scientific programs during the semester. Notably, students participated in initiatives such as the "I am Discovering Materials" program, the "Technology in Sports" program, and the "STEM in Sports" program. These programs were designed with a STEM-based approach, incorporating the latest teaching techniques to foster skill development through activities like investigation, exploration, practical experiments, scientific research, and project innovation. Dr. Saeed Al Meer, Director of QUYSC, commented on the importance of these programs, stating that a primary objective of the center is to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge for application in scientific fields, thereby contributing to national service and sustainable development. He emphasized the center's commitment to offering interactive, student-centered programs aimed at skill enhancement. Al Meer also noted that the closing ceremony was intended to commend the students for their exceptional efforts and creative solutions that support the community and align with Qatar National Vision 2030. The event included the evaluation and judging of shortlisted student groups by a panel of experts from various fields, culminating in the recognition of winners across the three programs.
