QU & BAKER HUGHES SIGN AN AGREEMENT TO ADVANCE SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IN COUNTRY

Qatar University (QU) and Baker Hughes, the global energy technology company, sign a MoU to enhance future collaboration to support scientific research, drive research on decarbonization of the energy industry, and build local capabilities.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Khalid Kamal Naji, QU’s Dean of the College of Engineering, and Zaher Ibrahim, Vice President, Middle East, North Africa, Turkey & India, Baker Hughes.

The MoU comes in the context of the university’s role in providing a high-quality level of higher education and scientific research in Qatar, and in line with Baker Hughes commitment to drive the energy transition in collaboration with its partners.

Commenting on the MoU, Dr. Khalid Kamal Naji said, “This MoU will support the establishment of new relations towards fruitful cooperation between CENG and Baker Hughes, a leading edifice in the field of research excellence.”

“We hope that this memorandum will be a path for further cooperation with Baker Hughes, to develop skills of our students who are the main element for the success of long-term development plans in support of achieving Qatar National Vision 2030,” he added.

“As an energy technology company, we are proud to provide Qatar University with our Turbomachinery & Process Solutions equipment (Laser Doppler Anemometry) to help advance scientific research capabilities in Qatar,” said Zaher Ibrahim, Vice President, Middle East, North Africa, Turkey, and India, Baker Hughes. “Additionally, Baker Hughes is focused on supporting innovation and research that can help drive the energy transition and support the decarbonization of the energy sector in support of the Qatar National Vision 2030 and Qatar University’s goals.”
