Doha: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index experienced a decline of 0.42% at the start of Wednesday's trading session, shedding 42.61 points to settle at 10,211 points. This downturn was influenced by negative performances across all sectors.
According to Qatar News Agency, the market data indicated that each sector contributed to the overall decline. The Insurance sector decreased by 0.25%, Consumer Goods and Services fell by 0.27%, and Banks and Financial Services slipped by 0.28%. Additionally, the Telecoms sector dropped by 0.43%, Real Estate saw a reduction of 0.45%, Industrials declined by 0.47%, and the Transportation sector experienced the largest fall of 1.04%.
Further market activity at 10:00 a.m. revealed that QSE recorded 2,868 transactions amounting to QR 41.033 million. These transactions were spread across 21.036 million shares, illustrating a busy yet declining market session.
