QRCS Organizes its 1st Annual Scientific Conference on NCDs

Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) is organizing, on Thursday, its First Annual Scientific Conference, titled “Updates on Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) at the Primary Health Care Level”, with the participation of many experts and specialists from various medical and health institutions in the country.

The three-day conference is supported by many partners, including the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), Qatar Medical Association (QMA), and Qatar Family and Community Medicine Society.

The sessions of the conference will address the latest developments in the treatment of chronic diseases, or NCDs, including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, thyroid disorders, and asthma.

The objective of the conference is to explore the latest updates on how to manage and prevent such diseases from a primary health care perspective.

ference Dr. Abdulsalam Ali Al Qahtani stated, “Over three days, many consultants, experts, and specialists are gathering to present a variety of scientific sessions, which introduce the latest evidence-based practices in the management of chronic diseases. They focus on enhancing the role of individuals and families in promoting protection, thus supporting health care providers, towards a healthy community that can implement the construction and modernization plans pursued by national health and development strategies”.

He added, “While seeking to ensure the regularity of this conference every year, we look forward to stronger partnerships among all components of the primary health care sector in Qatar. The ultimate goal is to establish a community where everyone enjoys health and wellbeing. Our health is the basis for building our future and the future of the coming generations”.
