Doha: The Athletes Commission of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) held its Ordinary General Assembly meeting for 2026 on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by Secretary-General of the Commission Mutaz Essa Barshim, with Assistant Secretary-General Nada Mohammed Wafa and other General Assembly members in attendance, along with a representative from the QOC. According to Qatar News Agency, the assembly approved the minutes from the previous session and reviewed the Board of Directors' report detailing activities from the past year. Discussions also focused on setting objectives for the forthcoming year and formulating future action plans. The final accounts for the last financial year were approved in accordance with the auditor's report, and the proposed budget was reviewed and endorsed. Commission members exchanged various development-focused proposals aimed at improving athletes' technical performance and addressing challenges on both personal and administrative levels. The assembly emphasized the importan ce of organizing workshops and awareness programs to bolster sports culture and create an environment conducive to athletes' growth and success at both continental and international levels.
