QFA AND QATAR SHELL ORGANIZE WIDE RANGE OF ACTIVITIES AS PART OF NATIONAL SPORTS DAY CELEBRATIONS

Doha: Qatar Football Association is once again partnering with Qatar Shell to organise a variety of sporting activities and events for families at Katara Cultural Village, as part of National Sports Day 2023 celebrations, following a two-year hiatus caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The events will begin at 7 AM tomorrow, Tuesday, the 14th of February, and will go on until 5 PM. With slogans such as ‘We Celebrate Together,’ ‘We Are Proud Together,’ and ‘We Inspire Together,” this year’s festivities include many activities and games that will attract the public.

There will be games suitable for people with special needs, as well as a theater for events, and a welcome majlis, in addition to gates, columns, and fences decorated with various slogans.

This year’s activities include Panna Cage – a mini football match played in an octagonal-shaped field; Football Darts, a game in which the player tries to shoot a ball at specific targets; and Baby Foot, Football Court, Battak and Totem games.

Aerobic and fitness exercises in successive sessions of 30 minutes each will also be held, including Tabata, Shadow Boxing, Zumba, Yoga, HIIT, and stretching exercises.

The coaches will also organise training sessions and football matches, intended for children aged 12 years and under. For more coordination, two head coaches will deal with school groups and classes, with each class having one coach and an assistant on stage. The assistant coach will be responsible for encouraging the public to take part in the activities, and facilitating them. A nutritionist will also be present to provide various consultations.

The Qatar Football Association and Qatar Shell remain committed to spreading societal awareness of the importance of exercising and following a healthy lifestyle, especially with the country’s celebration of the National Sport Day, which falls on the second Tuesday in February of each year.

The National Sport Day has been held over the course of twelve years since the issuance of the Emiri Decree instituting the event in 2011. Qatar Shell has continued its fruitful partnership with the Qatar Football Association and its support for our national teams, in various fields, especially at the level of social responsibility.

The relationship between the QFA and Qatar Shell shows the ideal model of a successful partnership, as it is not only a marketing business relationship but rather, it goes further, to represent a strategic relationship at various levels.
