Doha: Qatari shooters clinched three medals, including one gold and two silver, in the skeet competition on the fourth day of the Asian Shotgun Championship (Doha 2026) at the Lusail Shooting Complex.
According to Qatar News Agency, the championship, running until January 21, features 196 shooters representing 17 countries. The day's competitions included the fifth qualifying round for both men's and women's individual and team skeet events. The top eight shooters in each category moved on to the final round, vying for the top three positions.
In the team skeet events, the Qatari team won the gold medal in the men's competition. The team, comprised of Rashid Saleh Al Athba, Mohammed Ahmed Al Kuwari, and Ali Ahmed Al Ishaq, achieved a total score of 352 targets over five rounds. Kuwait's team, with shooters Mohammed Al Daihani, Abdulaziz Al Saad, and Abdullah Al Rashidi, secured the silver with a score of 350 targets. The bronze went to Kazakhstan's team, consisting of Eduard Yashchenko, Ratmir Yanikaev, and Ilya Benkov, who scored 345 targets.
In the women's individual skeet competition, Qatari shooter Reem Al Sharshani earned a silver medal, finishing second in the final round with a score of 31 targets.
