Doha: In their editorials on Sunday, Qatari newspapers addressed various topics, highlighting Qatar Economic Forum, which will commence on Tuesday, noting that it is considered one of the most influential business forums in the region.

The 4th edition of Qatar Economic Forum will witness the signing of 20 MoU, including 18 international ones, as well as the participation of over 2300 participants, including 1300 influential leaders from companies and organizations in more than 50 countries, in addition to 200 media outlets, mostly foreign.

In Arab affairs, the newspapers highlighted the UNGA resolution supporting Palestine’s request for full membership in the United Nations. They emphasized that the State of Qatar was among the forefront of countries praising the decision, expressing hope for the Security Council’s cooperation with the General Assembly’s recommendation.

In its editorial, Al-Raya newspaper said that Qatar Economic Forum is considered one of the most influential business forums in the regio
n, noting that it has become a leading platform in establishing a more sustainable and dynamic economic future. The Forum is an opportunity to listen to the leaders of finance, business and governmental communities in the region, understand their vision and how it translates into reality, and discuss the changing economic landscape and emerging economies of developing countries.

Under the theme ‘A World Remade: Navigating the Year of Uncertainty’, the Forum explores realistic and implementable solutions to shape a sustainable economic future, at a time when there is an increasing need for constructive dialogues on pressing issues affecting the economic arena, such as geopolitical shifts, globalization, trade, energy transition, technological innovation, business foresight, investment, sports, and entertainment.

It highlighted the significance of the Forum in enhancing Qatar’s reputation as a leading global hub for business and economy. It also viewed it as an opportunity to promote the Qatari economy global
ly by highlighting the incentives and facilitations it offers to attract more investments and businesses to the country, thereby increasing confidence in the Qatari economy, stimulating economic growth, and accelerating its pace.

Al-Raya concluded by emphasizing that the Forum is steadfast in achieving its goals, which include promoting innovation and enhancing international cooperation, reaffirming Qatar’s position as a central hub for discussions and investment, and its significant role in the international business sector.

In Arab affairs, Al-Watan said that the UNGA resolution supporting Palestine’s request for full membership in the United Nations has received broad Arab welcome, amidst calls for the Security Council and the United States to respond to it. This step aims to grant Palestine full membership in the United Nations, enhancing its position within the international system, enabling the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights, and paving the way for a just, comprehensive, and su
stainable solution to the Palestinian issue, the newspaper explained.

Al-Watan stressed that the General Assembly’s resolution reflects international consensus on the necessity of granting the Palestinian people their legitimate rights. It is an important initial step that should be followed by a more crucial one, which is granting Palestine full membership in the United Nations, the newspaper said, adding that such a step is the fundamental condition for future engagement in a peaceful process for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the framework of the two-state solution, based on the borders of 1967, with its capital in East Jerusalem.

The newspaper concluded by calling on the Security Council to bear its historic responsibility and not to oppose international consensus or stand in the way of the moral and legal right of the Palestinian people to achieve full statehood in the United Nations.
