Qatari Athletes Set to Showcase Talent at First Asian U23 Championships in Ordos

Ordos: The Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF) announced on Wednesday the Qatari team's participation in the inaugural Asian U23 Athletics Championships to be held in Ordos, China, from July 9 to 13. Featuring over 200 athletes representing more than 30 countries from across the continent, the QAF has selected a squad of outstanding field and track athletes to continue the success of Qatari athletics at the Asian level.

According to Qatar News Agency, the list included Seif Al-Din Mohammed (pole vault), Ahmed Jibreen (shot put), Khalid Hussein (400m and 4x400m relay), Zakaria Ibrahim (3000m steeplechase and 1500m), Hatem Hameed (800m and 4x400m relay), Salah Younis (100m), Omar Dawood (110m hurdles), Abdulrahman Mohammed (400m hurdles and 4x400m relay), and Mubarak Abdulkarim (400m freestyle and 4x400m relay).

The Asian Athletics Association had announced that the U23 Championships (Olympic category) would be the true benchmark for selecting the best athletes in the continent.
