QatarDebate Concludes 2nd Let’s Debate Contest

QatarDebate Center has wrapped up the 2nd edition of the “Let’s Debate” contest hosted by the Ministry of Sports and Youth with the participation of 100 debaters, whose ages ranged from 16 to 35.

Debater Abdullah Al Kubaisi ranked first in the contest after competing with his counterpart Mohammed Abdelnabi Mahmoud, who ranked second following a debate on the issue of withdrawal from the competitions based on political attitudes, while the issue of competition for third and fourth ranks revolved around the emergence of children as stars on social media platforms, which resulted in Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Rahman Eddeh being ranked third and Ali Sharif Tawfiq being ranked fourth.

The contest focused on individual debate and self-skills, as well as mastering the Arabic language even if the contender is a non-native speaker.

Program Specialist at QatarDebate, Turki Al Suwaidi, said the contest was initiated with an introductory lecture on debates, along with an overview of the previous edition with the particip
ants being supplied with educational sources.
