The State of Qatar welcomed the appointment of members of the International Commission of Inquiry to Investigate Violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and Israel, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities and avoid double standards, to end the Israeli occupation, lift the unjust siege on the Gaza Strip, stop building settlements on the occupied lands, release prisoners and detainees, and stop attempts to Judaize the city of Jerusalem.
This came in the statement of the State of Qatar delivered by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Office in Geneva Ambassador Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri to the 48th session of Human Rights Council, during the general debate on “The Situation of Human Rights in Palestine and the Other Occupied Arab Territories” under the seventh item of the Council agenda.

HE Ambassador Al Mansouri added that the State of Qatar welcomes the appointment of members of the International Commission of Inquiry to Investigate Violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and Israel, which is an important step towards holding accountable all those responsible for violations against the brotherly Palestinian people and conducting a permanent and continuous investigation into Israeli violations since 1948 until today, looking forward to finding more facts in its report at the 50th session of the Human Rights Council.
He stressed that the State of Qatar will spare no effort in alleviating the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people until they obtain all their legitimate rights and the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
