Qatar University Young Scientists Center Launches New Cycle of “I Am A Researcher” Program

Qatar University Young Scientists Center (QUYSC) launched the 23rd cycle of the “I am a researcher” program, for high school students at a ceremony held at the university.
In this session of the program, the Center attracted Qatari secondary school students from Ahmed Bin Hanbal Secondary School for Boys, Umm Hakim Secondary School for Girls, Al Maha Academy, and Hind Bint Abi Sufyan Secondary School for Girls.
The program aims to enhance the scientific research skills of Qatari students from the secondary stage by engaging them as research assistants in new research projects from various scientific fields at Qatar University.
It also provides an opportunity for participating students to hone their scientific skills and abilities in thinking, investigating, and reaching innovative scientific facts and results, in addition to introducing students to the various scientific fields at Qatar University, especially the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
QUYSC Director Prof. Noora Jabor Al-Thani said the center directs its interests towards young people to enhance their culture in the field of scientific research so that they become leaders and pioneers of science in the future.
The participating students will be divided into groups, with each group working on innovative research within Qatar University laboratories.
The program offers a large number of workshops to enhance the participants’ scientific research skills. It helps to enhance critical thinking skills and enhance the ability to test hypotheses and analyze results to reach the best possible result, as well as, training participating students to the latest modern technologies within Qatar University laboratories.
