Amman-Qatar table tennis national team topped the official medal table at the West Asian Championship currently held in Jordan and runs till Aug. 5 with the participation of 12 countries.
The national team secured 15 medals- six gold, two silver and seven bronze- after the conclusion of singles and doubles competitions.
Qatar Table Tennis Federation President Khalil bin Ahmed Al Mohannadi praised the Qatari team’s distinguished results in the championship, noting that the 15 medals were a result of the players’ good performance, and an outcome of strenuous efforts that made Qatar win consecutive annual trophies.
Al Mohannadi, also President of Arab and Asian Table Tennis Federations and the First Deputy of the International Table Tennis Federation President, said that the great support provided by the Qatar Olympic Committee for the game and all sports in Qatar contributed to Qatari heroes’ achievements in international competitions.
