Qatar Stock Exchange Index Opens Lower

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange index fell 1.66 percent at the start of trading on Monday, losing 177.93 points to reach 10,509 points compared with the previous session's close, weighed down by declines across all sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, figures released by the Qatar Stock Exchange showed negative performance in the insurance sector, which fell 0.02 percent; the telecommunications sector, down 0.10 percent; the consumer goods and services sector, down 0.35 percent; the real estate sector, down 0.57 percent; the industrial sector, down 0.77 percent; the transport sector, down 1.06 percent; and the banking and financial services sector, down 1.60 percent.

As of 10 a.m., trading on the Qatar Stock Exchange reached QR 77.072 million, with 30.243 million shares traded across 4,770 transactions.
