DOHA — The general index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) observed a modest increase at the commencement of trading on Sunday. The index rose 9.33 points or 0.10%, to attain the level of 9,328 points, compared to its closing status on Thursday.

According to a new release by Qatar News Agency, the increase was supported by gains in multiple sectors including Transportation, which rose by 1.40%; Real Estate, which increased by 0.75%; Banks and Financial Services, which went up by 0.19%; and Telecoms, which saw an uplift of 0.08%. Conversely, sectors like Consumer Goods and Services, Insurance, and Industrials witnessed a decline by 0.30%, 0.73%, and 0.84%, respectively. By 10:00 am, the QSE recorded 3,201 transactions totaling QR 108.615 million, distributed across 50,349 shares.
