Doha:The Qatar Sports for All Federation successfully concluded its "Summer of Sports for All 2026" race series at the Aspire Indoor Track, attracting 1,362 participants of different ages and nationalities.
According to Qatar News Agency, the event witnessed significant participation, with 676 runners in the open race and 686 women, including 641 Qataris, competing in the third edition of the women's race.
Winners across various categories were honored following the competitions, and all participants received commemorative medals and encouragement awards. These accolades aim to motivate continued participation in future races and other sporting events.
The race series included timed challenges tailored for different age groups. Participants over the age of 17 took part in 15- and 30-minute challenges, while those aged 7 to 17 competed in a 10-minute challenge. Children aged 3 to 6 had a five-minute challenge.
Abdullah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, highlighted the strong turnout throughout the series as a reflection of the growing interest in running and engagement in open sporting activities. He emphasized the importance of family participation in encouraging young people to be physically active, promoting sports as a way of life.
Al Dosari encouraged individuals from all societal segments to continue participating in future events and programs, reaffirming the federation's dedication to offering diverse and inclusive sporting activities for all age groups. The federation aims to foster a culture of sports participation and community engagement.
The federation's schedule will proceed with the fourth and final round of the "Summer of Sports for All" women's race series on Friday, with the "Autumn of Sports for All" race series set to commence later this month.
