Lusail: Amid a compelling competition, the 2025 MENA Karting Nations Cup concluded at the Lusail International Circuit Karting Track. This marked the third consecutive year the event was organized by the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF).
According to Qatar News Agency, the three-day tournament saw participation from 173 drivers representing 18 nations. Team Qatar achieved third place in the overall standings with 698 points. Team Morocco emerged victorious, claiming the Karting Nations Cup title with 912 points, while Team Lebanon secured second place with 779 points.
An additional highlight of the event was the presentation of the Spirit of the Late Habib Al Zawawi Award, which honored Lebanese driver Jad Al Awar for exemplary sportsmanship. The Palestinian team delegation also received special recognition.
The final day of races featured intense competition across six classified categories. In the DD2 category for drivers under 31, Qatari racer Hamza Hashisho took the title with a time of 20:49.653, narrowly beating Lebanon’s Edwin Khneisser. In the DD2 Masters category for drivers over 31, Faisal Yafei from Qatar secured second place, while Morocco’s Nader Kabaji claimed the title.
The Mini Max category for drivers aged 10 to 13 saw Moroccan racer Nehil Jihoudi in first place, while in the Senior Max category for those over 14, Anis Tazi from Morocco captured the title. UAE’s Nathan Kabbani triumphed in the Junior Max category for ages 12 to 15, and Lebanon’s Alex Maghreb won the Micro Max category for drivers aged 8 to 11.
In the R390 Elite Speed category, Lebanese driver Christopher Najim claimed victory, and UAE Team 1 clinched the R390 Elite Endurance category title, completing 110 laps. Morocco Team 2 and Oman Team 2 took second and third places, respectively, in the endurance race.
