Qatar Participates in Virtual GCC Investment Cooperation Meeting

Doha: The State of Qatar has participated in the fifth meeting of the GCC Committee of Investment Undersecretaries, held virtually on Wednesday. The meeting saw the participation of HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Mohammed bin Hassan Al Malki representing Qatar.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting's agenda included discussions on several key topics. These encompassed the progress in implementing the action plans of both the Investment Integration Committee and the Investment Promotion Committee, along with measures taken by GCC states amid current regional developments. Participants reviewed a unified Gulf list of priority sectors aimed at attracting foreign direct investment and explored industrial investment opportunities across member states, leading to related decisions.

The meeting further addressed investment-related laws and regulations within GCC countries. A priority matrix for cooperation with international partners in the investment field was also reviewed. Additionally, reports on investment-related events and outcomes of the 69th meeting of the GCC Trade Cooperation Committee were presented.
