The State of Qatar was represented in the meeting, which was held via video conference technologies, by Minister of Public Health H E Dr. Hanan Mohammad Al Kuwari.

The meeting discussed several important topics, most notably the update of the Gulf Manual for the Control of Imported Food, the GCC Unified Food Law, the Strategic Plan of the Gulf Committee for Food Safety 2021-2025, and the mechanism for imposing and lifting the ban on the import of food of animal origin and its products in the GCC countries.

The meeting also discussed the proposal to establish a Gulf center for food safety and risk assessment, the activities of the Gulf Food Safety Day for the years 2019 and 2020, and the implementation of the decision of the Supreme Council at its 40th session in December 2019 on non-tariff restrictions.
