MANAMA – Qatar men’s youth handball team defeated Iraqis counterparts 27-25 in group B game of 2022 Asian Championship currently held in Bahrain and set to run through August 31.

Tuesday’s victory helped team Qatar to rise their tally to four points and got step closer to the semifinals stage.

Team Qatar began their campaign in the event with a 36-22 victory over UAE, but they went down fighting against Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

Team Qatar will shake hands with Japan on Wednesday before play Kuwait on Friday.

The top five teams from the event will directly qualify for the 2023 IHF Men’s Youth (U19) World Championship, which will be held in Croatia in 2023.
