DOHA: Economic and commercial relations between Qatar and Iran are poised for further development, as highlighted by officials during the Qatar-Iran Joint Business Council meeting held at the Qatar Chamber. The meeting underscored the shared commitment to enhance trade relations between the two nations through various promising sectors. According to Qatar News Agency, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs, stated that the economic ties between Qatar and Iran have seen notable progress, reflecting the depth of their bilateral relations. He emphasized the potential for cooperation in sectors such as energy, agriculture, financial services, logistics, and technology. The Qatar-Iran Business Council serves as a pivotal platform in fostering these connections, aligning with Qatar's economic vision 2030, which focuses on economic diversification and the growth of non-oil sectors. HE Abbas Aliabadi, Iran's Minister of Energy, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the mutual interest in strengthening economic and trade ties. The meeting, chaired by QC First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari on the Qatari side and Adnan Mousapour on the Iranian side, explored investment opportunities and discussed ways to enhance commercial cooperation. Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari noted the significant growth in trade relations, with inter-trade reaching QR 534 million. He emphasized the role of the business council in activating cooperation between the private sectors of both countries and expanding partnerships. The council's activities align with increased mutual visits and the signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding. Adnan Mousapour stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships and resolving challenges faced by investors. He expressed hope that the business council would contribute to boosting trade and encouraged Qatari investors to explore opportunities in Iran across various sectors.
