Qatar Highlights Mediation Role at Mediterranean Dialogues 2025 in Naples


Naples: The State of Qatar participated in the “Mediterranean Dialogues 2025,” held in Naples, Italy, represented by HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi. The forum featured a special dialogue with His Excellency, focusing on Qatar’s foreign policy priorities and its role in supporting global stability and peace.



According to Qatar News Agency, His Excellency emphasized that mediation is central to Qatar’s foreign policy, based on neutrality, credibility, inclusiveness, and diplomatic perseverance. His remarks highlighted Qatar’s efforts in designing a peace framework for Gaza, emphasizing a phased approach involving ceasefires, humanitarian aid, and reconstruction.



His Excellency also addressed the recent Sharm El Sheikh Summit for Peace, describing it as a key milestone in enhancing coordination for Gaza’s peace process. He stressed the importance of continued high-level coordination among relevant parties to ensure the success of the peace framework’s implementation.



On Syria, His Excellency noted positive developments with recent parliamentary elections, urging international partnership for further reforms. Regarding Lebanon, he reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to stability and unity, advocating for the implementation of Security Council Resolution 1701 and emphasizing coordination with G5 countries.



In the Great Lakes region, His Excellency highlighted Qatar’s facilitation of a ceasefire agreement between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the M23 Movement. Similarly, he pointed out Qatar’s mediation efforts in Colombia to address challenges posed by armed groups and promote peacebuilding.



Concluding his remarks, His Excellency underscored Doha’s role as a global hub for dialogue, emphasizing mediation as both a moral responsibility and a practical tool for achieving stability worldwide.
